Use the Map
This tutorial explains how to use the interactive map to visualize the geographic distribution of households and beneficiaries.
Access the map
- Click on Data in the side menu
- Click on Map
Step 1: Discover the interface
Map elements

Step 2: Navigate on the map
Zoom

Move around
- Click and hold on the map
- Drag in the desired direction
Recenter
Click the Recenter button to return to the overview of Senegal.
Step 3: Display layers
Types of layers available

Activate a layer
- Open the side panel
- Check the desired layer
- Markers appear
Change coloring
Select the coloring mode:
For households:
- By eligibility (Green = eligible, Gray = not eligible)
- By poverty (Red = extreme, Orange = moderate)
- By status (Yellow = pending, Green = validated)
Step 4: View a marker
Click on a marker
- Click on a map marker
- A tooltip is displayed
Tooltip information

Access the file
Click View details in the tooltip to open the complete file.
Step 5: Filter data
Open filters
- Click the Filters icon in the panel
- The filters panel is displayed
Geographic filters
| Filter | Effect |

| Sector | Zoom to sector |
| Municipality | Zoom to municipality |
Select a value to automatically zoom.
Thematic filters

Apply
- Select your criteria
- Click Apply
- The map displays only filtered elements
Step 6: Change the base map
Available base maps
| Base | Description |
|---|---|
| OpenStreetMap | Standard map (default) |
| Satellite | Satellite imagery |
| Terrain | Topographic relief |
Change the base
- Click the layers icon (top right corner)
- Select the desired base map
Step 7: Export the map
Export as image
- Click Export > Image
- Choose the format (PNG, JPEG)
- Download
Export data
- Click Export > GeoJSON
- The file contains marker coordinates
Print
- Click Print
- Configure the layout
- Print or save as PDF
Practical cases
Case 1: View coverage of a municipality
- Filter by Municipality
- Activate the Beneficiaries layer
- Observe the distribution across the territory
Case 2: Identify uncovered areas
- Activate the Households layer (eligible)
- Activate the Beneficiaries layer
- Compare: households without associated beneficiaries are areas to cover
Case 3: Locate a complaint
- Activate the Complaints layer
- Search by reference
- The map zooms to the complaint
Statistics
At the bottom of the screen, statistics are displayed:
