Use the Map

This tutorial explains how to use the interactive map to visualize the geographic distribution of households and beneficiaries.

Access the map

  1. Click on Data in the side menu
  2. Click on Map

Step 1: Discover the interface

Step 2: Navigate on the map

Zoom

Move around

  1. Click and hold on the map
  2. Drag in the desired direction

Recenter

Click the Recenter button to return to the overview of Senegal.


Step 3: Display layers

Types of layers available

Activate a layer

  1. Open the side panel
  2. Check the desired layer
  3. Markers appear

Change coloring

Select the coloring mode:

For households:

  • By eligibility (Green = eligible, Gray = not eligible)
  • By poverty (Red = extreme, Orange = moderate)
  • By status (Yellow = pending, Green = validated)

Step 4: View a marker

Click on a marker

  1. Click on a map marker
  2. A tooltip is displayed

Access the file

Click View details in the tooltip to open the complete file.


Step 5: Filter data

Open filters

  1. Click the Filters icon in the panel
  2. The filters panel is displayed

Geographic filters

MunicipalityZoom to municipality

Select a value to automatically zoom.

Thematic filters

Apply

  1. Select your criteria
  2. Click Apply
  3. The map displays only filtered elements

Step 6: Change the base map

Available base maps

Change the base

  1. Click the layers icon (top right corner)
  2. Select the desired base map

Step 7: Export the map

Export as image

  1. Click Export > Image
  2. Choose the format (PNG, JPEG)
  3. Download

Export data

  1. Click Export > GeoJSON
  2. The file contains marker coordinates

Print

  1. Click Print
  2. Configure the layout
  3. Print or save as PDF

Practical cases

Case 1: View coverage of a municipality

  1. Filter by Municipality
  2. Activate the Beneficiaries layer
  3. Observe the distribution across the territory

Case 2: Identify uncovered areas

  1. Activate the Households layer (eligible)
  2. Activate the Beneficiaries layer
  3. Compare: households without associated beneficiaries are areas to cover

Case 3: Locate a complaint

  1. Activate the Complaints layer
  2. Search by reference
  3. The map zooms to the complaint

Statistics

At the bottom of the screen, statistics are displayed:
