Geographic Coverage
The Geographic Coverage dashboard allows you to track household registration progress against targets set for each area.
Access
Menu: Monitoring & Evaluation → Coverage
Overview
This dashboard answers the questions:
- How many households have we registered?
- What percentage of the target have we achieved?
- Which regions/communes are behind?

By Region View
Region List
Each region displays:
- Region name
- Coverage rate (%)
- Progress bar
- Number of registered households
- Target to achieve
Color Coding
| Rate | Color | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| ≥ 80% | Green | Target close or achieved |
| 50-79% | Orange | Average progression |
| < 50% | Red | Significant delay |
Drill-down to Communes
- Click on a region
- The commune list is displayed
- For each commune:
- Coverage rate
- Registered households
- Target if defined
- Click "Back" to return to regions
Progression View
Details by Region
This view displays for each region:
- Overall coverage rate
- Registration progress bar
- Validation progress bar
- Registered/validated ratio
Comparison
Enables quick comparison of:
- Regions against each other
- Progress vs validation
Monthly Progression
The side panel displays monthly evolution:
Chart
- Each bar represents a month
- Height indicates number of households registered that month
Targets
Two target indicators:
- Households: Progress toward total target
- Validated: Validation rate
Totals
- Total registered households
- Total validated households
Coverage Rate Calculation
The coverage rate is calculated as follows:
Rate = (Registered Households / Target) × 100
Where:
- Registered Households = Number of household forms created
- Target = Goal defined for the area
Targets are defined by program coordination and can be adjusted in settings.
Use Cases
Identify Lagging Regions
- Access the Coverage dashboard
- View "By Region"
- Identify regions with rate < 50% (red bars)
- Analyze causes of delay
- Plan corrective actions
Analyze a Region in Detail
- Click on the region
- View the commune list
- Identify problematic communes
- Prioritize collection efforts
Track Monthly Progression
- Check the "Monthly Progression" panel
- Compare volumes for each month
- Identify trends (acceleration/deceleration)
- Adjust collection schedules
Prepare a Coverage Report
- Apply desired filters
- Note key indicators:
- Total registered
- Overall coverage rate
- Lagging regions
- Export data for report
Compare Registration vs Validation
- Switch to "Progression" view
- For each region, compare:
- "Registered" bar (total forms)
- "Validated" bar (verified forms)
- A significant gap indicates a validation backlog
Best Practices
Weekly Monitoring
- Check the dashboard every week
- Compare with the previous week
- Identify trends
Realistic Targets
- Set achievable targets
- Revise targets if necessary
- Account for field constraints
Real-time Validation
- Validate forms as they are created
- Avoid accumulating a backlog
- The validated/registered ratio should be high
Communication
- Share indicators with field teams
- Celebrate successes (targets achieved)
- Mobilize on lagging areas
