Gender-Based Violence (GBV)

The GBV section allows you to manage support services for victims of gender-based violence and specialized agents in the intervention areas.

Access

Menu: Social Services → GBV

The interface is organized into three tabs:

  • GBV Services: List of support structures
  • GBV Agents: List of specialized agents
  • KoboToolbox Analysis: Analysis of collected data

GBV Services Tab

Overview

The GBV Services tab displays the list of structures offering support services for GBV victims.

Service Types

GBV services can include:

  • Health: Medical care
  • Psychosocial: Psychological support
  • Legal: Legal assistance
  • Shelter: Safe houses
  • Economic: Economic reintegration

GBV Agents Tab

Overview

GBV agents are individuals trained to support victims of gender-based violence.

KoboToolbox Analysis Tab

Purpose

This tab allows you to analyze data collected via KoboToolbox on GBV cases and support services.

Data Sources

Data can come from:

  1. KoboToolbox Sync: Direct connection to Kobo forms
  2. File Upload: Import an Excel/CSV file
  3. Sample Data: Demonstration dataset

KoboToolbox Connection

If KoboToolbox is configured:

  1. Select a form from the dropdown list
  2. Click Sync to load the data
  3. Statistics are displayed automatically
Configuration Required

Connecting to KoboToolbox requires prior configuration with API credentials. Contact the administrator if needed.

File Upload

To import an Excel file:

  1. Click on the drop zone or drag and drop a file
  2. The system automatically analyzes the data
  3. Results are displayed as charts

Available Visualizations

General Statistics

  • Total number of submissions
  • Distribution by region
  • Distribution by service type
  • Temporal trends

Detailed Analysis

  • By field: Analysis of each variable

GBV Functional Map

The map displays:

  • GBV services with their GPS positions
  • Coverage areas
  • Distances to localities

To display the map:

  1. Click Show map
  2. Navigate and zoom on areas of interest
  3. Click on a marker to see details

Export Analyses

Results can be exported in:

  • Excel: Raw data and summaries
  • CSV: Simple spreadsheet format
  • PDF: Formatted report with charts

Import into Database

After analysis, you can import the data:

  1. Select the records to import
  2. Verify field mapping
  3. Click Import
  4. Services/agents are created in the database

Detailed Record

GBV Service

The record presents:

  • General information (name, type, status)
  • Location (region, sector, GPS)
  • Contacts (phone, manager)
  • Services offered
  • Opening hours
  • Reception capacity

GBV Agent

The record presents:

  • Identity (name, code, photo)
  • Contact (phone, email)
  • Assignment (structure, area)
  • Training and certifications
  • Intervention statistics

Best Practices

Confidentiality

Important

GBV data is sensitive. Strictly follow confidentiality rules:

  • Do not share victims' personal information
  • Limit access to authorized users
  • Anonymize data during exports

Data Quality

  • Verify GPS coordinates of services
  • Keep contacts up to date
  • Document the types of services offered
  • Update statuses regularly

Geographic Coverage

  • Identify areas without GBV services
  • Analyze average distances to services
  • Plan deployment based on needs

Use Cases

Map GBV services

  1. View the list of services with GPS
  2. Enable the GBV layer on the GIS map
  3. Identify uncovered areas
  4. Plan opening of new services

Analyze collection data

  1. Connect to KoboToolbox or import a file
  2. View general statistics
  3. Analyze distribution by region/type
  4. Export the analysis report

Track GBV agents

  1. Filter by region or structure
  2. Check statuses (active/inactive)
  3. Identify training needs
  4. Export the list for reporting

Evaluate coverage

  1. Access the Analysis tab
  2. View the sector/service matrix

Integration with Other Modules

GIS Map

GBV services can be viewed on the GIS map by enabling the corresponding layer.

Reports

GBV data feeds into the dashboards and reports in the Reports module.

Integration allows automatic synchronization of field-collected data.
