Transaction fees

Transaction fees are computed from the operator's fee schedule.

Principle​

Fees are added to the beneficiary amount. The beneficiary receives the full amount.

Beneficiary amount   :  70,000 FCFA   (what they receive)
+ Administrative tax :     200 FCFA   (fixed)
+ Withdrawal fee     :   1,200 FCFA   (by bracket)
= Total amount       :  71,400 FCFA

Calculation​

  1. The SIG looks for the operator's active bracket whose bounds contain the amount.
  2. It adds that bracket's administrative tax and withdrawal fee.
  3. For a transfer, it multiplies by the number of payments.

If no bracket matches, fees are zero.

Where fees appear​

  • Simulator in the Fee schedules tab: calculation for one amount and one operator.
  • Transfer letter: number of transfers, transaction fees, administrative tax, gross value (sum of amounts) and total value (XOF). The letter uses the fees recorded on the payments; if the transfer has none, it estimates them from the schedule of the transfer's operator.
  • Caregiver page: the payment history details gross amount, transaction fees, administrative tax, withdrawal fee and net amount received.

Good practice​

Recommendations
  1. Simulate a typical amount before creating a transfer.
  2. Check the fees in the letter preview before sending it.
  3. Record when operators change their rates.
